Synology FlashStation FS3600 24-Bay NAS Enclosure
Fueling IT transformation for small and midsize businesses, the FlashStation FS3600 24-Bay NAS Enclosure from Synology meets the needs for real-time analytics, online transaction processing, and mission-critical database services, as it delivers flexible all-flash server deployment on demand. It has a rackmount form factor and can be installed into racks using a separately sold Synology Rail Kit (RKS1317). It provides more than 193,000 4K random write IOPS and is equipped with twenty-four 2.5″ drive bays that support SAS hard drives and SSDs, as well as SATA SSDs. Using its twenty-four drive bays, this NAS will allow you to store and share a large number of files, including videos, music, photos, and documents with up to 16,000 user accounts and 4000 maximum concurrent connections.
The FlashStation FS3600 runs on Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, which is a browser-based operating system that helps to simplify managing your Synology NAS. Its CPU is a 2.1 GHz Intel Xeon D-1567 Twelve-Core with a burst frequency of up to 2.7 GHz, and its 16GB of DDR4 ECC Registered RAM, which can be upgraded to 128GB, allows frequently-used files and applications to be quickly accessed.
Also featured are two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one expansion port which allow it to be connected to compatible devices, such as two RX1217sas or two RX2417sas expansion units for increased storage capacity. Network connectivity is achieved via the two 10 Gigabit Ethernet and four Gigabit Ethernet ports, all of which support Link Aggregation and Failover, allowing your stored data to be shared with users throughout the network. There is also one PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, which can be used for a network expansion card.
For those who require RAID support, the FS3600 supports RAID F1, which is designed to work specifically with SSDs. RAID F1 unevenly distributes the overall workload between the drives, thus helping to enhance the storage pool and keep your data safe. Also supported are RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, each of which provides speed, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is available.
The FlashStation FS3600 is engineered to be energy efficient. Not only does it offer four 80 x 80mm fans to help keep the system running cool at all times, but the server supports numerous scheduled power on/off cycles and hard drive hibernation to further minimize power consumption and operation expenses.
The Synology FlashStation FS3600 24-Bay NAS Enclosure operates using dual redundant power supplies that run at 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz and includes an accessory pack and two power cords. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty.
Fast, Scalable, and Affordable
The FS3600 is an all-flash data management solution delivering more than 193,000 iSCSI 4K random write IOPS, which is ideal for enterprises pursuing a high-speed infrastructure that responds fast under I/O intensive workloads, such as database, virtual machines, or OLTP applications. The FS3600 is 10GbE-ready and can be easily integrated into businesses’ existing LAN environments, with a competitive cost per Gigabyte ratio.
Powered by Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), the FS3600 provides an intuitive graphical user interface for IT administrators to manage and monitor system resources easily and efficiently. The FS3600 supports easy storage capacity expansion with Synology Expansion Unit RX1217sas/RX2417sas3, with no need to remove existing data or install additional management software.
Built for Your SAN Storage Needs
The Synology FS3600 provides a fully certified virtualization solution with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, and OpenStack Cinder. It supports both iSCSI and NFS protocols and integrates with VMware VAAI and Microsoft ODX, allowing IT administrators to effectively deploy and facilitate storage operations in various virtualization environments. IT administrators can efficiently manage virtualized workloads through built-in DSM features and add-on plugins for VMware and Windows environments. Features including fast clone, NFS v4.1, and thin provisioning deliver more flexibility to accommodate administration needs.
With no additional license fees required, your virtualized workload can be further protected by a complete suite of data protection applications including Synology Snapshot Replication, Hyper Backup, Active Backup for Business, and Synology High Availability to cover various protection scenarios.
Virtualize Workloads Flexibly in a Protected Environment
Synology Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) is an intuitive hypervisor software application allowing you to easily set up virtual machines and run various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Virtual DSM. Besides, you can build up a cluster environment with multiple Synology systems while keeping the flexibility to scale out online and migrate virtual machines for load balancing and resource allocation. Each virtual machine can also be fully protected by a set of disaster recovery features including instant snapshot, replication, clone, restore and failover, and safeguarding your digital assets with no additional cost.
With a VMM Pro license, you can further utilize the advanced features of remote replication, remote storage migration, high availability and live migration, minimizing the risk of service downtime and managing IT resources agilely.
